Dolly Haltzman Dance Academy Recital Information

• Recital is held at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 1533 Hamilton St. in Allentown.
• Recital tickets go on sale in May. There will be a general purchase day at the Kuhnsville studio or you may send me a self addressed stamped envelope with your order and payment. Everyone attending must have a ticket, this includes infants. All students must enter through the back door.
• Every student must wear make-up, blue eye shadow for preschool and combo girls, brown eye shadow for other girls, mascara and eyeliner, red lipstick and blush for dress rehearsal and recital. Boys should have some make-up on so their faces do not appear washed out by the stage lights.
• Hair must be worn as specified by teacher. If down please wear it very natural, out of eyes and away from face. Please bring extra bobby pins to the theatre for hairpieces.

ALL STUDENTS MUST BE AT THE THEATRE, IN COSTUME ½ HOUR BEFORE THE RECITAL.

• Please dress them at home in make-up, tights and costumes. Please put their names in their costumes to avoid confusion. Carry their shoes, headpieces, and accessories in bags to prevent dirt, loss etc.
• If in both shows students should bring a lunch for in between shows. Parents may pick up children between shows but they must be returned ½ before second show.
• GIRLS DO NOT WEAR UNDERWEAR UNDER COSTUMES.
• All costume straps must have appropriate fastners. They may not be tied!
• ABSOLUTELY NO STUDENT IS ALLOWED IN THE AUDIENCE AT ANY TIME DURING OR AFTER THE RECITAL.
• The students will be allowed to watch during rehearsal. Each class will have an assigned row of seats and are to remain seated there with their class mother until the dance is called on stage.
• PARENTS MAY TAKE THEIR CHILD TO THE STAGE ENTRANCE THE DAY OF REHEARSALS AND RECITAL ---- NOT THE DRESSING ROOM. Class mothers will make sure your child gets to the dressing room. It is our experience that once students are settled with their class, they are just fine A big thank you to all mothers who work very hard backstage. Any parent wishing to be a Class mother, please let your class teacher know.
• NO STUDENT MAY LEAVE UNTIL THE RECITAL IS OVER. THE STAGE DOOR IS NOT OPEN DURING THE RECITAL. After the recital is over, students will be brought to the stage door exit and will be permitted to leave when an adult arrives to pick them up and gives us the student’s name.
• Your cooperation is appreciated. Thank you in advance!
• PLEASE: NO CAMERAS OF ANY KIND AT RECITAL! THIS MEANS MOVIE, PHONE, PHOTO, CAMCORDER ETC. IF YOU WISH TO VIDEO THE RECITAL, YOU MAY DO SO AT DRESS REHEARSAL. COST IS $6.00 AND ADMITS 1 PERSON IN STAGE ENTRANCE – FRONT DOOR IS LOCKED.
